I suspect that the characters are playing right into the murderer's hand by arguing with each other. I assume that he is hoping they turn on each other and complete some of his work for him. Armstrong goes to find Macarthur for lunch, and discovers that he was killed by a blow to the head. Vera and Mr. Rogers notice that only 7 Indian figures remain. A meeting is called and Judge Wargrave tells all the guests to go forward with the attitude that any of them could be the murderer. He then dismisses the meeting.
